Organization Overview
Remission Biome is a citizen science, patient-led project of the non-profit, decentralized research organization, Renegade Research.
We are driven to improve the quality of life for patients with ME/CFS, Long COVID, and other infection associated chronic illnesses.
We aim to do this by infusing patient-led research and patient-held insights throughout our stakeholder groups: research, clinical care, patient communities, health systems, and the public to catalyze change and speed up the race to treatments and cures.
The Remission Biome project was launched in late 2022 as a #hashtag and quickly grew to a funded project with numerous global participants and newly formed Renegade Research, a non-profit formed in Colorado in the United States, to run multiple additional citizen science projects.
Our first two self-experimenting groups results in 10/13 participants experiencing remission events and we’re working on following up their experiences a year later. Our third group, named the Renegade 50, is working their way through the protocol with some results expected to relate in summer 2024. We have a wait list of 500 participants ready to join us and we’ll begin enrolling them in our peer to peer support community in Spring 2024.
